El Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR) ha creado el programa de becas predoctorales con el objetivo de formar a los futuros investigadores durante 3 años en investigación básica y clínica y la realización de su tesis doctoral, para que se conviertan en doctores, y a la vez captar y retener a los mejores investigadores y evitar así la fuga de talentos.

Campaign objectives

Attract highly talented scientists seeking advanced research training and career development in all areas of biomedicine and clinical medicine at the Vall Hebron Research Institute (VHIR).

Description

Vall Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution, located in Barcelona (Spain) that promotes and develops innovative biomedical research at the University Hospital Vall Hebron. VHIR is oriented towards finding solutions to the health problems of the citizens and has the will to contribute to the scientific, educational, social and economic development within its area of competence.

This programme offers to young investigators a training programme that includes individual research training, scientific and technology courses, and scientific and financial management of the research project. They will also benefit from career development activities and international scientific conferences, and participation in laboratory and journal clubs.

Activities

Top candidates will be selected by an expert group of researches.

  • The research staff under training who will participate in the project will have a mentor.
  • The researcher will present the results of the research undertaken in an annual public seminar.
  • The researcher will acknowledge in all type of dissemination activities (scientific papers, posters at conferences).
Who will benefit?

It has been possible to sponsor 11 young researchers to develop their training and their doctoral thesis in diseases such as childhood cancer, stroke, multiple sclerosis or cancer of the larynx, among others. And with your help it can be possible to fund 500 hours of research.
