The situation of poverty and exclusion suffered by more and more families is affecting children of school age more severely.
Education is considered the most powerful tool to break the cycle of transmission of poverty from parents to children. For this reason Save the Children in Spain serves over 5.000 children through its programs in Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Comunidad Valenciana, Madrid and the Basque Country.
With the educational reinforcement program, safe spaces are created where children can study, interact with other children from respect and non-violence, and encourage play, education in healthy values and habits.
- Provide adequate space to study and perform school tasks.
- Develop leisure activities and free time through which they can improve their social skills, norms of coexistence and respect for others and the environment, as well as promote healthy living habits and hygiene.
- Support families at risk of exclusion.
With 6.000€, 60 children can receive educational reinforcement during the school year.
